🖼️ Installer Walkthrough

This page walks you through the entire Jellyfin 2 Samsung installation process, from launching the installer to configuring advanced settings.

🚀 Installation Flow

1️⃣ Launch the Tool

When you start the installer, it automatically scans your local network for compatible Samsung TVs.

2️⃣ Select Release

Choose the release you want to install.

3️⃣ Pick a Version

Select the specific Jellyfin version you want to install on your TV.

4️⃣ Select Your TV

Detected Samsung TVs will appear automatically.
If your TV is not found, you can manually enter its IP address.

5️⃣ Installation in Progress

Once started, the installer takes care of everything:

  • Certificate handling
  • App signing
  • Deployment to your TV

🔐 Certificate Login (Only When Required)

A Samsung account is only required when a new certificate must be generated
(for example, when installing modified packages or enabling plugins).

⚙️ Application Settings

These settings control how the installer behaves and how Jellyfin is installed on your TV.
Most users can safely leave the defaults unchanged.

🌐 Interface

  • Language
    Select the installer interface language.

🔐 Certificates & Security

  • Certificate
    Choose the certificate used to sign and install packages.
  • Force new certificate
    Generates a new Samsung certificate if required.

📡 Network & TV Connection

  • Local IP
    Used when enabling Developer Mode on the TV.
  • Right-to-left reading
    Reverses the IP address for Arabic / Hebrew locales.

📦 Installation Behavior

  • Overwrite existing version
    Attempts to overwrite an already installed app.
  • Open after installation
    Automatically launches Jellyfin on the TV once installation finishes.
  • Preserve WGT file
    Keeps the downloaded or modified .wgt file (useful for debugging).
