Describe the Bug

BookStack v25.05.2 (the latest release as of 16/07/25)
Zen Browser (but it also present on Google Chrome)
It is impossible to add background color to the table line and to the any text paragraph outside the table. Instead of the background color it changes text color.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a page
Add a table on the page with WYSIWYG editor
Try to change the background color

Expected Behaviour

This video demonstrates the issue

Thanks for raising.

There is a specific background color option for cells via the cell properties window when you have cells selected (advanced tab in popup):

Although in the new editor (which you are using) this does not seem to visually apply consistently.
Also, the inline highlight color format option (as used in your video) does appear to be generally broken in the new WYSIWYG editor.

I have raised both of these points to our beta feedback in #5631 so I'll therefore close this off.
