The title kind of gives the question away, so how ? :)
The only thing I can think of at the moment is that in a to-do list the top one blocks the ones below it, but that doesn't really allow for multiple work streams?

For now you can simply paste the URL of a card into the description. Since URLs are clickable this works fine for me.
