It would be nice to have swimlanes.
Example:

As to why it could be useful: https://www.breeze.pm/blog/102-better-task-management-with-swimlanes
@nickbe commented on GitHub (Mar 19, 2021):
Swimlanes are of course useful, but we have something a little different on the list which (at least in my opinion) is much more easy to use. I used swimlanes for years in other tools and they only made me scrollsick 😁
@nikto-b commented on GitHub (Jul 15, 2022):
Anyway, swimlanes can be good enchancement for canban (e.g. trello addons with swimlanes are useful)
@john8329 commented on GitHub (Jan 18, 2024):
A benefit of swimlanes is they avoid repeating the columns for each section, and even though there's scrolling, they help prioritize and separate issues better than separate views. WeKan, despite being confusing as hell, has a nice implementation of them.
Meanwhile, as a workaround, I'm using labels and filtering. This made us reorganize a bit, but tbh it's not a bad thing.
Thanks for making this app btw.

Could be nice to consider this for v2 #627.
@solomon-b commented on GitHub (Oct 6, 2025):
I'm sorry for resurrecting a really old issue, but could you expand on this? What feature were you thinking of that you think is better then swimlanes? Was it implemented?
@borqq commented on GitHub (Nov 22, 2025):
Would like to see this feature too, and I can see there are quite a few issues raised on this topic:
https://github.com/plankanban/planka/issues/92
https://github.com/plankanban/planka/issues/455
https://github.com/plankanban/planka/issues/1307
Any plans on implementing this?

Another vote here for adding swimlanes... I think it would be super useful!
