TLDR;
Requesting the addition of Triage Inbox and Public Boards features to Planka, facilitating seamless collaboration with external contributors and enhancing idea submission and management.
Objective:
As a small team, we aim to leverage Planka not only as our primary project management tool but also as a public-facing idea portal similar to Productboard with a Triage inbox similar to Linear. This initiative seeks to enable external contributors to submit ideas seamlessly while ensuring efficient triaging and enhanced role-based access control (RBAC) within Planka.
Key Features Requested:
Public Boards for Idea Submission:
Add functionality to allow external contributors to submit ideas directly within Planka. This will provide a user-friendly alternative to technically-oriented version control systems, simplifying the submission process.
Triage Inbox for Management:
Introduce a dedicated Triage Inbox within Planka to manage incoming external idea submissions. This inbox will automate organization and display of submissions, facilitating efficient review, update, and prioritization.
Refined RBAC for External Contributors:
Enhance Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to accommodate external contributors effectively. Registered users should have read-write access limited to their own submissions, while anonymous contributors should have limited creation capabilities to prevent spam.
Conclusion:
This addition will empower Planka users to seamlessly collaborate with external contributors and manage ideas within the platform itself, improving overall efficiency and innovation.
