Sorry if it's already possible, but i didn't find how to do it.
Think it would be very practical to put boards on public mode, so we can share them to people without having to create account !
It is already planned by any chance ?
@vsile commented on GitHub (Feb 28, 2024):
+1 Public access (with read-only mode) would be very useful.
@ScanuNicco commented on GitHub (Mar 8, 2024):
I just set up a Planka instance for my club because of the new restrictions Trello put on free accounts. This feature would be extremely helpful for our use case.
@ScanuNicco commented on GitHub (Mar 13, 2024):
It occurred to me that an easy way to do this might be to add a "Guest Login" button on the page that logs the user into a special "Guest" account. Board owners could then make a board public by sharing it with the guest account, and giving it either view or edit access.
@meltyshev commented on GitHub (Mar 14, 2024):
Hi! That's a good suggestion. The only problem would be that to view public boards as a regular user, you would have to log out and log in as a guest.
@123dev commented on GitHub (Jun 14, 2024):
What's the problem with that?
@MFYDev commented on GitHub (Jul 19, 2024):
Need this as well. Or by creating a temp gust account just make everything wroth, it will be great if we can share a board
@KingColton1 commented on GitHub (Jul 22, 2024):
+1 this is will make planka even better.
@vitobotta commented on GitHub (Jul 23, 2024):
I just set up Planka and I also would love to be able to make a board public but read only for an open source project of mine. Is it planned?
@meltyshev commented on GitHub (Jul 23, 2024):
Yes, we plan to add Public Boards in the v2 :)
@vitobotta commented on GitHub (Jul 23, 2024):
That's awesome! Thanks for this project, it's one of my favorite open source tools. It looks great and works pretty well!
@Yeastdonkey commented on GitHub (Oct 16, 2024):
Would like this as well.
@zloveless commented on GitHub (Nov 11, 2024):
👍 would also like this feature. I'd rather have the ability to make boards read-only to anyone logged in. Some apps (Redmine and phpBB3, off the top of my head) do this by having a magic hidden user representing the guest or anonymous access, and then granting that "user" access to boards. Whether it's technically implemented like that or not, that's how it's presented to the admin.
Also: I'd love to be able to add non-managers to a group of boards so they automatically get access to all boards within that group. Probably something akin to managing Discord categories and channels.
@nyhil116 commented on GitHub (Jan 18, 2025):
I also think this would be an incredibly useful feature. I set Planka up to be a task board for my GF's business and being able to share specific boards as read-only with her clients to show the current work progress would be amazing.
I think this could be done by allowing user accounts to be added to boards as "viewer" role would work, or alternatively you could allow project boards to generate a public share link that would automatically set anyone viewing from the link to a view only guest.
Just a thought ^.^ I think this would make Planka even more indispensable though.
@SmollClover commented on GitHub (May 17, 2025):
Seeing that Planka V2 has been released as stated in #1111 I was wondering if this feature was included in the release too like it was stated here. If it was then where do I find it? I can't seem to make a board public for Users who aren't registered.
@meltyshev commented on GitHub (May 17, 2025):
Hi! Unfortunately, we haven't had time to add public boards before releasing the RC version, and it's hard to say when they'll be added, as we're currently focused on fixing everything for the final release.
@SmollClover commented on GitHub (May 17, 2025):
Ah, okay. Good to know. I hope the feature will be added then for either the full release or in a update after V2 is fully out since it would definitely be a useful feature for my use case. But either way, V2 is already an amazing release as of right now so it's completely understandable how not every feature was able to be implemented.
@aStonePenguin commented on GitHub (Jun 10, 2025):
This the the one feature I need to replace Trello. I know it's only been a few weeks but is there any chance this is any closer to becoming a reality?
