Delete Branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

I'd like to have feature, that I create a task (card) and also can set that it will re-appear after a set time. Two methods of "repeating" come to my mind:
With this, I can setup chores, like a "cleanup database every second tuesday". I can do it the day after tomorrow, too, and it will re-appear the second tuesday after.
This is the reddit thread about the feature: https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/i8g9ox/introducing_planka_an_opensource_selfhosted/g19mi1i/

This is already on our list.

Thanks for the quick response!
May I ask, how you will handle the time tracking on this ticket then?
So I guess after I threw it into my "Done" coloumn, it will somehow reappear.
Will it be the exact same card, so time tracking will continue on the already added time; or will it create a copy of that card, which will have 0 seconds on it - and the old card will remain where I have left it?
@nickbe commented on GitHub (Aug 19, 2020):
There are several other quite different aspects for reappearing cards. The one you mentioned is something yet to be discussed. For me the best way is to choose between simply letting the card reappear and reset and having a copy of the old card. Depending on the usage both solutions will be helpful

Any news on this?

+1 for recurring cards. This would greatly enhance the utility of Planka (for me at least!)
@pxlnic commented on GitHub (Oct 2, 2024):
+1 for this as well. This would be huge for me and being able to get rid of my regular task manager and get my family to start using it with me :)
@horusofoz commented on GitHub (Aug 19, 2025):
+1 for recurring cards.
@LordFransie commented on GitHub (Aug 26, 2025):
+1, This would be a huge game changer for the way I use Planka. I have to do this through an outside script and that sucks.
@ixvari commented on GitHub (Oct 2, 2025):
+1, If this feature was in, I'd switch over to it right now.

Hello everyone I created this : planka_automations, I will add also some new automations later with AI, please create issues with your ideas !

and now its a pro feature which if you use personally and self host will still cost 50 euro a month ... Thats extraordinarily annoying. You can buy a significant portion of creative cloud adobe suite for less money

Thanks for sharing your feedback.
We are planning to introduce a single-user Pro license for the self-hosted version, which will be priced lower since it won't have the current minimum 5-user requirement.
We understand that many users would like to see more features in the Community version. At the same time, some features will remain Pro-only - that's a deliberate decision. Without a paid version, we wouldn't be able to actively continue development.
The recurring cards functionality required non-trivial work - distributed locking with Redis (which we don't have in the Community version), correct timezone handling, precise scheduling by weekdays/months, etc. That complexity is also likely why this feature wasn't implemented earlier.
Over time, we do plan to move some Pro features into the Community version. We've already done this once - initially, the idea was to keep the repository as-is and build a separate paid Pro product, but we later decided to replace version 1 with a lot of custom-developed improvements instead.

This should have been a core feature to planka - something that differentiates it from using the kanban built into teams. I use planka hosted from my homelab which either me or my wife can login to and use simultaneously. House projects, chores, whatever, mostly for managing my very many projects. I might bring your attention to canonical who give 5 ubuntu pro licenses free for personal use... many of those people using personally for free are also responsible for purchasing within their company.

I wrote my own version overnight. It doesn't seem like the demo you guys have setup shows this feature yet. Do you care to share the details of why this was so challenging? I'm interested if im missing some large issue.
