Description of the bug
Doing an initial sync using the Jellyfin for Kodi add-on in its default 'add-on' mode processes Movies very fast, but when it gets to music is slows to a crawl. Demonstrating stop-start behaviour through chunks of the library.
During this time, the Jellyfin web UI will become either extremely slow or unresponsive. The server may eventually report a number of database lock events and require a restart, although I am not sure if these two events are coincidence, I have not had that before trying to get through this initial sync.

Running 10.11.2. Latest everything.
Reproduction steps
Do a sync with Jellyfin for Kodi or query the Music endpoints of the Jellyfin library API.
What is the current bug behavior?
Slow UI / server stops responding.
What is the expected correct behavior?

Do you mean the media or the database files etc. when you are talking about "Data" in the environment section?
@theinfguy commented on GitHub (Nov 3, 2025):
Sorry updated to make clear. Only media is on spinners. Everything else, OS/Apps/Jellyfin DB etc is on NVME. This set up has been lightning fast in the 2 years it's been in place.
Performance issues only since update to 10.11.0 then .1 and now .2. I did completely remove and readd libraries after the 10.11.0 update.
Should add that I am running the DB in default NoLock mode as I always have since day 1. Parallel library scan tasks currently set to 1 but this has no impact on the performance issues in the GUI.

Is there likely to be any progress on this issue in the next minor release?
@krixon commented on GitHub (Nov 14, 2025):
I have the same issue after upgrading to 10.11. TV and movie libraries were fine, but adding the music library hung on 0% for so long I eventually gave up. Happy to try again and provide logs or any other debug info which may be useful.
@theinfguy commented on GitHub (Nov 17, 2025):
Database lockups still happening following update to 10.11.3.

I have tested a full reset/sync in Jellyfin4Kodi against 10.11.4. Although I can't make it crash the server, upon scanning the music library, it slows the servers web UI to a crawl. Unusable. Movies and TV Shows are fine.
I have uploaded logs here, SQL Query logs.

I believe I'm having the same issue on 10.11.3, although I don't use Kodi or the Jellyfin4Kodi addon. When my music library(~7000 mp3s) is enabled, the web UI slows to a crawl and often becomes completely unresponsive. As soon as I disable the library everything works perfectly fine.

I have this issue too! Movies and TV Shows sync with my server in moments, then Music is always crawling along and eventually usually hangs around 10%-15%. I have over 17,000 flac files in my collection.
