Description of the bug
I’m using Jellyfin 10.10.7 in k8s under traefik on a amd ryzen 4650g pro APU, where the igpu is used with rocm k8s plugin to be mounted on my Jellyfin app for transcoding. Movies and tv shows transcoding works like a charm with the igpu with vaapi configuration, but I’m facing some issues with live tv streaming from tvheadend. With quality set on auto I have birate of 139.7 minimum, I saw even 1074mbps on some channels. With transcoding reasons:
The streams works great if I set a quality of 8mpbs for example.
What I’ve tried as workarounds but doesn’t work:
Reproduction steps
Jellyfin setup with tvheadend plugin: quality set on auto.
What is the current bug behavior?
Unnecessary high birate for transcoded live tv streams.
What is the expected correct behavior?
to have a maximum birate of the original source. ~8mbps

Additional information
Very important to mention:
@IndianBartonka commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2026):
I had same bug but on Raspbbery pi,and it so anoying bc it transcode even on Jellyfin Media Player
https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/16028
@IndianBartonka commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2026):
But in my case transcoding occurs because the bitrate is too high, and JMP shows that the codec is not supported
@IndianBartonka commented on GitHub (Jan 16, 2026):
When I use automatic quality, Jellyfin informs me that the container is not supported, which would be normal on the phone if it were not for the bitrate being 180Mb/p
@IndianBartonka commented on GitHub (Jan 17, 2026):
I find way how to disable transcoding
Just set matroska profile and use links DO NOT USE BUGGED TVHEADEND PLUGIN
Just use
