Description of the bug

System:

User:

  • Jellyfin Roku 2.2.5
  • Standard user with access to a handful of libraries not all

Issue:
My user (sister), messaged me to say that her watch history has a bunch of items she's never watched nor would ever consider watching. She sent me screenshots and it was all items that my admin account watched and had marked as played. We are not in any shared groups.

Please share the following info

  1. The complete list of plugins installed on your server
  2. Whether you are using any metadata savers
  3. Any 3rd part program you are using that interfaces with Jellyfin

In addition please confirm:

  1. The items are marked as watched when you log into the affected user account in an incognito window from a browser
  2. The Roku is logged into the correct account

@Jukari2003 commented on GitHub (Mar 9, 2025):

My apologies, I decided to log into her account directly and see what was going on an took a better look at the pictures she sent me.

She had somehow accidentally selected movies creating a "Check Mark" in the corner of the icon. This made her (and me at initial glance) think it was something she watched, instead it was just something she accidentally selected. I verified her watch history by going to her played items and none of what she showed me was there.

Sorry for the bug report - please close the ticket.
