Describe the bug
When i play an avi file, transcode settings get modified by jellyfin
System:

  • OS: Debian
  • Virtualization: Docker
  • Clients: Web
  • Browser: latest firefox
  • Jellyfin Version: 10.5.5
  • Playback: Transcode
  • Installed Plugins: none
  • Reverse Proxy: none
  • Storage: local

To Reproduce
1: Setup working NVENC
2: enable hardware decode for any format (h264,hevc,mpeg2,mpeg4,vc1)
3: apply - try to playback - transcode any MKV file : validate transcode works
4: play .AVI file: playback show as being transcoded.
5: check hardware decode settings: h264,hevc,mpeg2,mpeg4,vc1 get unselected.

Expected behavior
I guess a playback should not modify any settings

Logs
LOG: Avi_log.txt
FF log: transcode_log.txt

Additional context
I would like to have more informations about the differrences between "hardware decode" and "hardware encode" options as i feel the documentation is missing some informations to help confused people (like me :-) ) making the right choices.

GPU used is an Nvidia Quadro P400.

Once thoses are unselected, the playback, transcode looks to be still working fine, wich leads me to this question again: how the "hardwade decode for "formats" " options affect jellyfin transcodes.

Many thanks for your work and time!
