Hi guys!
Id really appreciate your help, I'm pulling my hair out!
Your TV model: UE55DU8070UXXU and Tizen version studio 6.1
Installer version: V1.6.6
Detailed steps to reproduce the issue:
I'll be honest, ive tried for 4 hours to get Jellyfin on my TV. From following the manual guides and now fortunately found this!
I have tried to install it using release 2025-07-28 16:44 version: Jellyfin-10.10.z.wgt. It has found my TV. My tv is in developer mode and I have linked my PC's local IP to the dev mode.
It just says installation failed when I followed the default guide of download and install. I have then made my own certification on tizen certificate manager (2 of them) and selected this in the settings. I have force logged into samsung (had to use chrome login) and have tried to install again.It gets to "installing package on device" then "installation failed". I've tried restarting both and still no joy!
Any error messages or logs

Hi there!
It can be a real pain if its not working, so let's start troubleshooting.
First of the message is pretty clear, the TV isn't allowing the app to be installed because of a certificate chain failure.
Your TV is really new so it's running Tizen 8 or 9..
For now probably the easiest and best solution is to remove tizen studio or at least rename it to something like
c:\tizen-studio-organdc:\tizen-studio-data-orgThat way when your opening the tool again all required Tizen tooling will be installed by the tool.
The tool should recognise your Tizen 8 and will ask you to login using your Samsung account, if not just enable force login.
Leave the certificate in default for now and let the tool create a new one for you.
Hope it helps and let me know if it doesn't I'll try to help you out!
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2025):
Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the super fast reply and willingness to help!
Okay, so ive deleted everything tizen related on the pc. Ran your program which started to download programs. Some of which had an error at the end, but other things continued to download. So I just pressed okay and gave it a shot.
It had installation failed with the below error code. I then removed the certificate manager etc to try and get it all to redownload again, however with everything uninstalled. The jellyfin installer isnt forcing the programs to redownload. Now, Ill try and do a long power off to see if it resets anything, but no more tizen programs are on my pc that I can see.

@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2025):
Let's first tackle those installation errors, the program downloads and installs Tizen Studio CLI in this folder
C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli
C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli-data
So apparently Tizen Studio installed okay otherwise those folders won't be there
Please take a look at this page
https://github.com/PatrickSt1991/Samsung-Jellyfin-Installer/wiki/Application-Setup
At what screen did you have a error? And so you remember what the error was?
Maybe delete those folders again and start installing again and let me know what error you are getting, cause all tool need to install without error else it won't work.
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2025):
Hi mate!
Sorry for the lengthy response. I owe you a beer
prior to seeing this. I installed Tizen studio again manually to see if that helped (after the errors on the previous install) the same issue and error above.
I have then followed your guide https://github.com/PatrickSt1991/Samsung-Jellyfin-Installer/wiki/Application-Setup and following your guide here ran package manager in my local/programs folder which didn't have all of the other sdks I installed earlier on when I did it manually?
None the less, ive installed them, ive tried the jellyfin 2 Samsung again, its found my tv. I've chosen todays release and the 10.10.z.wgt version.
4.I'm really hopeful! But the same error

This has now prompted the Tizen cli £ certificate manager are required, by your app.

@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2025):
Dude that's one hell of a detailed explanation, really helpful!
Can you please check this location?
C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\tools\library\sdk-utils-core.jarThat's probably missing..
If it is missing you'll have to install tizen studio manually and copy it from here
C:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\lib-ncliTo
C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\tools\library\sdk-utils-core.jarProbably this folder is missing aswell?
C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\ide\plugins?That's the jar file containing the certificate used to create a valid chain.
Once you've copied that file please rename the
C:\tizen-studioto something likeC:\tizen-studio-backup, run the tool again but enable the force login setting.Can you also run this in command prompt?
cd C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\toolssdb.exe connect [your-tv-ip]sdb.exe devicessdb.exe capabilityThat would help me making the tool better cause it should trigger a login based on those values.
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2025):
Absolute legend. there is no library\sdk-utils-core.jar (or any library folder)
I will install it and get back to you tomorrow as the mrs has gone to bed and this was for the bedroom TV so its off now! :D Thank you for all your help so far mate.
@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2025):
No worries, can you also screenshot met this folder?
I wonder what jar files are in there
tools/ide/lib-ncli
Maybe I can use those files instead.
@Lumince commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
My friend had this issue while I did not. So I had them copy the library files that existed elsewhere to that directory and there was a lot missing in their AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\ide\ folder so I gave them that as well. Worked perfectly fine after that!
@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
@Lumince do you remember what files and folders you needed to copy?
Maybe it can help, and I can improve the tool to have a fallback location
@Lumince commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
@PatrickSt1991 Ah! Yes!
"AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\tools\library" This folder didnt exist here, but it did exist here "AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\library"
I just had them make a copy to the tools folder
For the "AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\ide" folder, my friends was missing everything that I had in my folder. So I zipped that up for them and they copied it over. After doing that, and turning on forced samsung login, it worked just fine and installed without any issues!
@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
Thanks, this definitely helps!
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
Sorry for another wall of text!
there is no library\sdk-utils-core.jar (or any library folder)
but there this folder is present - Probably this folder is missing aswell?
C:\Users\gump1\AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\ide\plugins (see screenshot)
ive made the above library folder, and copied the sdk-utils-core.jar
4.ive renamed the c:\tizen-studio and tizen-studio-data folders to backups
ive ran those commands (ignore the first one, I mistyped the ip) - see screenshot
thgis is abit disconjointed - but ive checked what lumince said (thank you) and the sdk-utils.jar, sdk-utils-core.jar and sdk-utils.bat are in appdata/local/programs/tizenstudiocli/library (not tools/library) - ive copied these files and placed them in tools/library
see screenshot as to whatr is in my AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\ide folder
8- fingers crossed, going to try now
9 - jellyfin 2 Samsung has found my tv
10 - ive done todays release with version 10.10.z.wgt
11 - download install - its packaging the wgt file with certificate - installing package on device -
12 - failed ! :(

I then tried again the forced samsung login and it worked! you guys are heros! You have a givecoffee link or anyway to thank you boys?!
@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
So basically the tool has two issues;
AppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\tools\librarywhile it should beAppData\Local\Programs\TizenStudioCli\library. That's a easy fix luckilyI'll work on those issues, thanks for helping and reporting.
I've thought about doing a buymeacoffee or something but the goal of this tool is to make life easier for each and everyone, sometimes the credits and the thank you messages are enough 😄 life is expensive enough as it is.
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
Well Patrick, I really do appreciate it, if you do decide to pop up the buymeacoffee send me over a link!
One last question before I go! Jellyfin now pops up on the APPS part of the screen, but not in the default "for me" section with all of the other apps. Is that becauses its downloaded? If not a huge issue, just would be easier for my technophobe wife!
Once again mate, thank you so much, im off to watch some tv!
@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
I don't know what the UI looks like on Tizen 8 but for my Tizen 5 device I have to go to the APPS screen, once I've selected/ highlighted the Jellyfin app just press and hold the enter button, a little list will open up and in that list there's something like "Add to home screen"
Something like this image, once you've done that it will turn up in the short list like this
@Lumince commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
Am I able to just upload my library and ide folders? haha
But yea I have no clue as to why I had the right files since my TV is on Tizen 4 and my friends is on Tizen 8 xD
Hopefully all of this is easily fixable and isnt a pain
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2025):
I prefer the look of that UI that mine! Mine looks like bloatware! But you were absolutely right! Hold down the button and ive added it to my home screen. Thank you for all the help mate!
@PatrickSt1991 commented on GitHub (Jul 31, 2025):
I've implemented a fallback location for the required JAR files, as it turns out once you've installed Tizen Studio CLI there are two locations containing the files.
v1.6.7-beta
Hopefully that will prevent this from happening again.
@gumpish12 anything else I can help you with? or can we see this issue as solved and closed?
@gumpish12 commented on GitHub (Jul 31, 2025):
No mate, you completely sorted all of my issues! Thank you once again, if you ever do the buymeacoffee thing, throw me the link! I'm binge watching series now!
