Have you read and understood the above guidelines?

yes

📜 What is the name of the script you are using?

Cockpit

📂 What was the exact command used to execute the script?

bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/community-scripts/ProxmoxVE/main/ct/cockpit.sh)"

📝 Provide a clear and concise description of the issue.

Running Proxmox 8.3.5 according to the Web UI. I installed a recent ISO of PVE and ran apt upgrades which moved my system from 8.3.0 to 8.3.5.

Tried to install the Cockpit LXC script (and a few others) but ran into an error that it is unsupported on my version of PVE.

Found the source of the error in build.func:

if ! pveversion | grep -Eq "pve-manager/8\.**[1-3]**(\.[0-9]+)*"; then
msg_error "${CROSS}${RD}This version of Proxmox Virtual Environment is not supported"

Yes, hence why you should never rush to update to major versions...

I don't disagree...but in this case I just ran normal apt commands to patch the system, and it moved me to 8.3.5.

Well you ran an apt upgrade, which updates all packages, ofc. proxmox will get updated too.
