Yeap, that's why I said git repository, because can be gitea, gitlab or even other types of repository link svn.

Because sometimes people want to see what is changed in project, for instance, break changes.

I really don't understand what you want here? If the application has no official documentation, and there are some apps like t hat, we cant put a link on the website

I really don't understand what you want here? If the application has no official documentation, and there are some apps like t hat, we cant put a link on the website

I keep the info tab in proxmox that have the link for the script, today I make a edition for every project info to add more details like the repository for read the release notes, see the changes if necessary and read the docs when I need to see if is possible to make a change, this is my custom one:

The "HS" is the community scripts and with all data is available in links will help me and others to find the information more fast and direct.

PS: All issues I open here is about quality of life UX, if this is irrelevant, let me know and I close them.

For this example, the link I have are these:

Documentation: https://opengist.io/docs

In this case the release notes is just one link from repository but in some cases the better place are not the releases page:

Home Assistant is a good example: https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/categories/release-notes

Website, the example I cited is because I have all link on proxmox frontend to make my monthly more easy, I documenting in this way because my focus is not use all free time to make the homelab working.

Let me clarify my idea:
What I am suggesting is to also include links to the original project that the script installs — for example:

Repository of the project (GitHub/GitLab/etc.)

Release notes of the project

Official documentation of the project

The Community Scripts website already has links for the scripts themselves, but sometimes when maintaining the homelab it’s very helpful to quickly jump to the upstream project resources. For example, Jellyfin has its GitHub repo, release notes, and docs — having those links directly in the Proxmox frontend would make it faster to check changes or read documentation before updating.

So the proposal is not about replacing the current links, but adding upstream project links where available, to improve the UX.

Isn't the direct project link attached? So you can go directly to the upstream. Release notes would again only work for GitHub, a good 50-60% are not GitHub projects. Then it would be omitted again, then the next person would complain “that's missing”. The documentation, if available, is also always in the links section.

Or is it just that it's a switchbar and you have to click on it first to click on “Website” and “Documentation”?

I think somewhere we have to draw the line, we are not a tool to fetch new releases or anything like that, there are wonderful projects for that out there, for example: https://newreleases.io
Or you can use an rss reader and directly subscribe to github releases with it.

Community-scripts is a project for creating scripts, and I feel like if we add even more links, you will create another issue, stating we need more question mark tip-info to explain what the wall of links is.
