  1. USB storage mounted via FUSE/NTFS/exFAT → libguestfs fails

  2. Missing libguestfs-tools or KVM support

  3. Wrong partition name (/dev/vda1 vs /dev/sda1)

  4. virt-resize blocked by mount options like noexec

Try this:

apt install libguestfs-tools libvirt-daemon-system libvirt-clients on your Host

Otherwise i cant help you

apt-get install --reinstall binutils-x86-64-linux-gnu

turns out to be a storage issue on the pve-root, it needs enough room to expand debian qcow2 and then import to the selected storage i picked, thanks for the help
