Just tried to follow your instructions on Firefox/Ubuntu but could not reproduce.
Could you confirm if you're able to reproduce this in the demo BookStack instance?

@ssddanbrown Can't reproduce it in the demo with comments enabled. For testing purposes I enabled comments in my productive instance. No issues with comments enabled. With comments disabled the issue can be reproduced.

Does a general footer feature with customizable html exist or is there anything planned into this direction?

Yep! Confirmed in my dev instance also. Good find. Will mark this to be in the next patch release and I'll try to get that out fairly soon.

No and no current plan. Currently going through a redesign (#1153) that will be a bit more suitable for a footer so will keep it in mind during the development of that. Don't see why we couldn't at least have a way to add one via theming system.
