Account disabling is a feature that must be available in any system. Millions of systems want people to keep a record of who had previous access. The Audit log is not enough.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

The only way is to delete the record. This means destroying dozens of records due to deleting a user account.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request
