Describe the feature you'd like

BookStack currently allows users to insert images that can be opened in a larger view or in a separate tab when clicked, depending on the settings. This is very convenient for viewing details.

However, embedded Draw.io diagrams (added via the Draw.io integration) do not support this behavior. They remain static within the page and cannot be opened in an enlarged view.

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users

I would love to have the same "click-to-enlarge" or "open-in-new-tab" functionality for Draw.io diagrams as is available for standard images.

This would greatly improve readability for complex diagrams and make the Draw.io integration more consistent with how images are handled.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

A possible workaround is to manually export the Draw.io diagram as an image and insert it separately. However, this breaks the convenience of having the diagram editable directly in BookStack and requires duplication of content. Therefore, it’s not an ideal solution.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

How long have you been using BookStack?

3 months to 1 year

Additional context

Thanks for the request @lulufg187, but I feel this is already covered by existing issue #1548 which has the same fundamental request so I'm going to close this off as a duplicate.
