Describe the feature you'd like

Hi,
i have a feature request. When I’m reading a long book or page in BookStack, i often have to scroll all the way back up just to click the "Home or Profile" button.

Would it be possible to add a setting or feature where the Home button (or a configurable button) automatically appears when scrolling down/up, making it easier to go back to the top or home?

Thank you very much! @

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users

This feature would improve navigation efficiency, especially on long pages, by reducing the need for excessive scrolling. It enhances user experience, saves time, and makes BookStack more user-friendly.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

No

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

How long have you been using BookStack?

1 to 5 years

Additional context

Great software! :)

This is wrong:

No

You can achieve this by clicking the home button on your keyboard or by custom tampermonkey scripts.

Don't get me wrong, i still think this is a valid feature request - but how about just showing a scroll to top as users scroll down?

We do already have a "Back to top" button which shows in the bottom corner once the main view has been scrolled a certain distance:

I wouldn't really look to expand this with extra actions or options, especially as there's been little other desire.
It may be possible to customize the existing UI though if you need something specific.

In that case, i agree. Unless OP meant something completely different..

Thank you very much for the quick response anyway! I hadn’t noticed the option at the bottom before, but now I’ve seen it. That should be perfectly sufficient for me.

@jihad-ismail Good to hear that should be sufficient! I'll therefore go ahead and close off this request.
