Describe the feature you'd like

On a installation without external access (intranet) it is preferable to login with a short username instead of using a E-Mail address. Also, I would like to have a way of inserting new users without invitation mail - setting a preliminary password and the user can change it on first logon

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users

Simplified logon, no need for internet access of the system (no mail to send)

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

Don't know

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

How long have you been using BookStack?

Under 3 months

Additional context

No response

Hi @real-skydiver, This was already discussed in #1498 so I'm going to close this off as a duplicate.

You can do this, uncheck the option to invite during user creation and you'll be able to set a password.

Thanks!! But we still have to use an E-Mail address to login (see "it is preferable to login with a short username instead of using a E-Mail address" in my post)
