Thanks for the request @reddexx but I'd need a more substantial description into the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users. Why do people need formatting in comments? What would this allow or achieve? How do we ensure that they then don't cause a distraction to page content?

Technically I think the comments do support markdown to provide a level of formatting where needed but this isn't advertised, to remain as a power-user feature if needed while keeping page content as the focus for formatted content.

If something is wrong with a text or something is unclear, you can make it clearer with formatting

In addition, words are better highlighted to see what should be improved.

I would definitely enjoy it as an advantage instead of reading through a normally formatted text :D

With the merge of #4815 I've now brought the simple WYSWIYG description inputs (added last release) to comment boxes. This will be part of the next feature release.
