The page navigation is a very useful feature to find what you are looking for. I find myself using it a lot. It would be very helpful to have this also visible when editing a page as well.

When having to edit multiple areas of a page, it would be great to have the page navigation showing so you can quickly jump between sections.

Thanks for the request @janaelliott.

Just to confirm, do you primarily use the default WYSIWYG editor or do you edit pages in markdown?

I think WYSIWYG should get priority since it's default

Just to add that we would love to see this feature. Jumping about documentation quite a bit at present and it would help.

Hi @ssddanbrown, I have noticed the new UI, looks nice.

However, the sides look a little empty now, and on large documents having a floating navigation (that follows as you scroll) to bounce around the document might be helpful.

Current:
original

Mock up:
new

As the current way is to exit the editor, use the navigation, highlight some text then click the edit button that pops up. Or just control-f....

Just a thought.

Lue.

@lue30499 Thanks for the suggestion. To be honest though, I'd probably prefer to add it as an extra item in the toolbox (alongside tags, templates etc...) since that's already built as side-content to work in all scenarios (MD editor, all screen sizes etc..), and I personally quite like a default minimal appearance to avoid editor distraction.
