The bug

The new photo editor is a very handy new feature. I use it to rotate photos to the correct orientation.
When I rotate a photo that is used as the album cover, the album cover is not regenerated.
It will still show the original thumbnail, in this case with incorrect orientation.

Reproduction steps

  1. This can be easily observed by going to https://demo.immich.app/albums, and using the "Birds" album: https://demo.immich.app/albums/0a546cae-2037-4130-b045-c19ed72efd15
  2. The bird is upside down, both in the photo as the album cover.
  3. Rotate the image to be upside up
  4. The photo is now correct, but the album cover still has the bird upside down.
