The bug

If you scroll more than half way down the circular photos of All People, then
click on a person to view all of their photos,
then click the back arrow,
you are not returned to the original circular photo.

Note, I don't know if the size of the list matters, but I have 2,680 circular photos in All People.

Reproduction steps

Steps

  1. Select "Explore" from the left side menu
  2. Click "View All" people
  3. Scroll more than half way down a long list of circular people photos (in my case there are 2,680 photos). Scroll more than half way to the bottom.
  4. Click on a person's photo
  5. This shows all of their photos
  6. Click the back arrow in the upper left corner.
  7. When the back arrow in step 5 is clicked, we should be taken to the circular photo we started with. However the bug is that we are instead returned to half-way down the list of circular photos, and have to then scroll down and hunt for the photo we started with.

If you do not scroll more than half way down in step 3, then the you are returned to the correct circular photo.

All photos are in the external library /ImmichExternalFiles, which is located on a synology server
There are no photos in the /data folder (that is, none have been uploaded to immich itself).
The /data folder is also located on the synology server

@bo0tzz I think this issue should be reopened as I'm able to replicate the issue now with a library of 3,110 people.

Also, the linked issue was already closed as fixed by the 2.5.2 branch, and this issue and duplication report is already running the 2.5.2 (latest) branch, what directly means that the issue was never related/solved.

Thank you.

Additional Notes:

  • This occurs after triggering the lazy load of the People tab.
  • You don't return to the top of the page, but at the limit of where the lazy load was triggered.
  • I think this can happen with less people if you actually search for a name inside the search bar of the Paople tab (Search people), then click someone, and go back with Esc key.
