The bug

Fresh install of Immich Server on an empty NAS and Immich Mobile App on Android does not transfer all photos from phone to NAS.

Around 1000 out of around 6000 photos are transferred, then the upload stops no matter what I do:

  • force kill and restart the app
  • turn backup off and on again
  • delete the SQLite database

The OS that Immich Server is running on

Synology DS224+

Version of Immich Server

v2.3.1

Version of Immich Mobile App

2.3.0 build.3027

  3. Log in to Immich on phone
  4. Select to back up Camera
  5. Backup stuck at 1248 remote assets out of 6224 local assets
  6. Nothing helps:
    • force kill and restart the app
    • turn backup off and on again
    • delete the SQLite database

If it helps, I had a similar issue where the mobile app was unresponsive while my Synology device was ingesting new images. I think it was running out of memory and ended up disabling the machine learning container to make it responsive again. I also set all of the batch sizes to one.
