I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report.

The bug

When using the duplicates tool, "view"ing a photo (clicking the magnifying glass) and trashing a photo from there doesn't resolve the duplicate group.

  1. Go to the duplicates tool
  2. See a group of similar photos
  3. Click the magnifying glass in the corner of one of the photos
  4. Be able to browse through the similar photos by clicking left or right
  5. Trash one or more of the photos
  6. Return to the screen with the group of similar photos
  7. All photos are still there, with the option to trash or keep them

A more intuitive solution would be

  • If there are still more than one photo untrashed in the group, remove or dim or somehow make it clear which photos are gone and which ones are still left.
  • Update the "Trash [number]" button to reflect how many are still trashable (already trashed photos.
  • Maybe make it still possible to restore a trashed photo from this screen by marking a trashed photo as "keep".
  • If one or no photos are left untrashed, this duplicates group has already been resolved. Options are to either still view the whole group, but make it clear which ones are trashed, and give the option to still save some of them (as per the above suggestions), or just move on to the next group.

Right now, if you trash a photo, the page has no idea about this and still gives you the option to keep the "wrong" photo that you already trashed. This might result in you accidentally trashing the whole group.
