The bug

The immich app asks me to update it. I am currently on 2.2.0 but in the play store there is no newer release. Immich should only ask for updating when there is actually a new release in the store

Most likely due to stores verifying the app. There is 2.2.1 on GitHub for Android. You can't update to that however without reinstalling the app and therefore resetting it to a default state.

That could be a reason, yea. In my experience playstore releases shouldn't take more than a couple hours after they are triggered (except if there was some issue with the update)

Also what would be interesting is if these in-app update modals would solve this

It seems that the app is not yet available as mentioned and should surely be under review

This issue is not about a version not being published. This issue is about that the button shows that the user should update only if they can update.
