The bug

I have a lot of photos mounted as external library in Immich. Several photos of the external library contain already facial regocnition data within photos meta data.
After performing facial regocnition within Immich and merging people, pictures contain the people twice (two frames on the person).
By searching the person in the mobile App, each picture will be shown twice in the search result.
In the Browser Version, the picture contains two face boxes, but the person will be shown once, and the search result for the person shows the pictures only once.

So I expect a bug in the mobile App or within the merge component to merge recognized faces.

@Finke3 commented on GitHub (Oct 26, 2025):

It seems that it's known that facial data from meta data will not be merged with detected faces by immich as described in #15107 .
Anyway, the search results for a specific person should not show the photos twice in the iOS mobile app. In the browser version the photo will be shown once by searching for a person (even it has facial data of the person in meta data and additional detected by immich).

Edit: It seems that the search works correctly, but by selection of a person in the mobile app via “library —> persons” shows duplicate photos.
