The bug

I am using Immich app on iOS to upload my Photo library to my Immich server.

Of my ~15k photos, approximately ~500 failed to upload.

Looking at the logs on the immich_server docker container, I see that they appear to fail to upload because they have a fileModifiedAt time of 0000-12-30T00:00:00.000Z which leads to the following error:

Query failed : {
  durationMs: 1.0175069868564606,

    line: '3773',
    routine: 'DateTimeParseError'
  },

The photos with this metadata come from a variety of sources

  • Scans
  • Digital Cameras that shot in JPG
  • Digital Cameras that shot in ARW

I'm not sure how these files got the metadata they did, but, seems ... weird ... that they're failing to upload (I would expect the invalidate date to be replaced by NULL or some such).
