The bug

After manually deleting all photos/videos from my camera roll, the app kind of "forgets" the camera album. New photos taken will thus not be backed up anymore.

Also, after re-installing the app in an attempt to debug the issue, I found that without any files in my camera folder, it wouldn't even show up as a sync source.

The OS that Immich Server is running on

TrueNAS 25.04.1 (not as app, but manual Docker Compose)

Version of Immich Server

v1.135.3

Version of Immich Mobile App

v1.135.1 build.202

Platform with the issue

Reproduction steps

  1. Clear Camera folder on Android
  2. Install Immich
  3. Try to set up automatic backup for Camera - this fails because "Camera" can't be selected
  4. Take a photo
  5. Try setting up backup again - this succeeds
  6. Delete the photo from device
  7. Check backup settings and find that there are no selected albums to be backed up
