The bug

I've noticed that some photos render the top portion of the photo under the top bar on the web photo viewer. I first noticed it when I saw detected faces, but couldn't find that face in the photo. I downloaded the photo and then realized the top was not displayed. If I set the top bar to display: none then the top of the photo becomes visible.

This doesn't happen to all photos, and I can't find anything in common amongst the affected photos so I don't know how to repro it.

I just noticed that the issue is that the top bar isn't becoming transparent when opening the photo viewer. I don't know what is causing it to not become transparent, but it doesn't seem to be content related because I can open the photo viewer multiple times from the same place and see different behavior.

Looks like it might be the DarkReader Chrome extension that was causing this. It's supposed to be disabled, but looks like it is sometimes turning on when it shouldn't be. I'll close for now.

Actually I didn't have it set to be disabled for immich, but it does a "dark mode" detection and will disable itself if it detect dark mode. I have dark mode turned on in immich, but maybe that doesn't get picked up in some scenarios on the photo viewer? Not sure if that should keep this open or not.
