The bug

In the iOS mobile application, the playback of any video over Wi-Fi comes with interruptions and constant downloads. WiFi 5 GHz, local network, Internet stable 300 Mbps, iphone 12 pro max. I checked in three options for launching the immich server: 1) Standard yml configuration (with the immich-proxy container). 2) Without the immich-proxy container, using nginx as a reverse proxy using the c ssl over https domain name. 3) Same as option 1, only through the wireguard tunnel. All three launch options had problems playing video over WiFi, but there were no problems with 4G (lte). Also checked with an external wifi network in the office. At the same time, the same videos on 4g (lte) are played perfectly, without interruptions.

I'm on 1.72.0, also on 12 Pro Max, but unable to recreate the issue. I played several videos in 1080p and 4k, all stream perfectly over wifi.

I feel like there is no way this is an immich bug. Especially if it works fine on other networks. This is most likely a setup/networking issue on your end.

Now updated the server to version 1.72.1 and ios app to version 1.72.0. Indeed, in this version there are no problems with video playback over wifi! This is very cool, because in the last month and a half the problem was on all versions that were released before. Now there is no problem. The only thing left to fix is incorrect display of hdr content colors and video playback in ios app with judder effect
