The bug

When watching any videos in a mobile application on iphone 12 pro max, there is a jadder effect. Lacks smooth playback (as when using AFR). It feels like the frame rate of the video does not match the frame rate of the screen. at the same time, all videos were shot on iphone with a frequency of 60 fps and in the native Photos application they are played perfectly. and this problem does not depend on the type of video - hdr, mov etc

Also, photos and videos taken in hdr mode are not displayed correctly in the mobile application on ios - a problem with colors. Is it possible to fix this somehow? For example, in the owncloud (ocis server) mobile application, unencoded hdr videos are played correctly

This is, unfortunately, not an Immich bug but a limitation of the video player library that we used, and there is no better alternative option at the moment to handle HDR content.

Is the problem with the judder effect also related to this? Are there plans to implement another player/library?

Tell me, can the problem with incorrect display of colors in hdr photos be related to preview generation? It turns out that on ios I have all the original photos and videos in hdr and in the immich app for ios I have enabled both the option to generate a preview and the option to upload originals. But I can't see the correct colors even for a photo. Or do I need to disable the generation of compressed thumbnails completely and only show the originals? Or in the immich mobile application on ios, in principle, hdr photos will always be displayed as sdr, that is, incorrectly?
