I recently received a new CUH-ZCT2E controller off Aliexpress (new old stock?) that seems genuine (unless if the Chinese have gone to such lengths that they are now making DS4 clones that copy the mainboard layout 1-to-1?). The mainboard is a JDM-055. However, it is recognized as a 040 by the web GUI:
NVS status is unknown and lock/unlock commands do not work.
Calibration commands result in an error: "Your device might not be a genuine Sony controller. If it is not a clone then please report this issue."
I also have another genuine 040 controller, which I bought soon after the v2 launched, and the tool works fine with it and reads it like so:
NVS can be locked or unlocked normally.
Curiously, the 055 controller's build date is BEFORE my old 040's, and the SW/HW versions are both lower.
If there's anything I can do to help debug, please let me know.

It seems that either the controller or just the firmware is a clone, can you post a photo of the board?
